We would like to thank Professor Chen and Dr. Yang for their letter regarding our article entitled ‘‘Preoperative biliary drainage of severely jaundiced patients increases morbidity of pancreaticoduodenectomy: results of a case–control study [
1]”. Their meticulous revision of our manuscript has given us the opportunity to identify that, indeed, percentages for post-pancreaticoduodenectomy morbidity and mortality are reversely cited in the Introduction section of our paper, while the correct morbidity rates for the two groups are 24 versus 36 % (no PBD vs PBD group), as reported in our text and not those erroneously provided in Table 2. The authors would like to apologize for these unfortunate oversights, which have somehow escaped a thorough proof reading process. …
