Patients with medication overuse headache (MOH) show a complex psychopathological profile characterized by high rate of mood, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders and dependence-related behavior. Several studies suggested a negative prognostic value for psychiatric comorbidities and reported that these represent a risk factor for the transformation of episodic into chronic headaches. Moreover, the presence of psychopathological disturbances seems to be a predictor of relapse and poor response to the treatment, complicating headache management and promoting the maintenance of MOH [
