Zusammenfassung

Tauchen ist eine Sportart mit zunehmender Beliebtheit auch bei älteren Sportlern. Reiseveranstalter, tauchausbildende Vereine und Tauchbasen verlangen vermehrt aus (versicherungs)-rechtlichen Gründen eine Tauchtauglichkeitsuntersuchung. Da es sich um die einzige Sportart in hyperbarer Umgebung handelt, muss der Untersucher auch über die tauchphysiologischen Besonderheiten bei Immersion auf das Herz-Kreislauf-System Bescheid wissen: Es kommt dabei zu erhöhter Herzarbeit durch Zentralisierung des Blutvolumens. Bereits milde Symptome wie Schwindel bei Arrhythmien oder auch nur kurzzeitige Synkopen können fatale Auswirkungen unter Wasser haben. Auch die eingeschränkten Rettungsmöglichkeiten im Kardialen Notfall verlangen eine sorgfältige Beurteilung der Tauchtauglichkeit bei Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen.
