It is not clear whether every infant with febrile urinary tract infection (UTI) should be investigated by a voiding cystoureterography (VCUG) for the diagnosis of a vesico-ureteral reflux (VUR), which is a potentially painful and traumatic test [
1]. The effectiveness of an antibiotic prophylaxis to prevent recurrent UTI in this age group is also not known [
