Intraoperative preservation of the pelvic autonomic nerves is critical in avoiding postoperative bladder dysfunction among cervical cancer patients [13]. However, it is difficult to visualise the small pelvic autonomic nerves. The second near-infrared (NIR-II, 1000–1700 nm) fluorescence imaging has properties of higher spatial resolution and imaging contrast [48]. This study determined the significance of a NIR-II fluorescence imaging test in identifying the small pelvic autonomic nerves. …
