Zusammenfassung

Die hochauflösende Karotisplaque-Bildgebung mittels MRT kann die Morphologie einer Plaque zuverlässig und reproduzierbar einordnen und damit bei Patienten mit Karotisstenose zusätzlich zum Stenosegrad weitere Kriterien zur Risikostratifizierung zur Verfügung stellen. Die Studienlage reicht jedoch noch nicht aus, um Therapieentscheidungen ausschließlich auf Grundlage der Karotisplaque-Bildgebung zu treffen.
