The timing of the release of this concise yet comprehensive book, edited and written by experts in the field, is prescient with the current tumult in the field. This is another book that contributes further to the understanding for those new to cerebrovascular medicine as well as experienced clinicians. The fields covered are extremely broad and include both the basics (anatomy, physiology, pathology and genetic sciences) of brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVM) and arteriovenous fistulae (AVF) but also the highly nuanced management decision-making and execution of treatment. The book is well-balanced with excellent representation of a large cross-section of experts from differing backgrounds. The chapters flow logically and are well-integrated by the masterful editing. The currency, not always possible in textbooks, is outstanding with good discussion of both ARUBA and the classification of bAVM and AVF. Perhaps the most outstanding feature is the illustrations that are of the highest caliber. I highly recommend for those with an interest in cerebrovascular medicine, whether novice or experts, that this be considered an addition to your library. …
