Abdominoperineal resection (APR) is a standard treatment for most patients with low rectal cancer. Attempts to perform a continent perineal colostomy after APR have been made during the past decades. Chivate et al. [
1] reported a technique of continent perineal colostomy with an “S”-shaped arrangement of colonic loops. Lasser et al. designed a pseudocontinent perineal colostomy, and Nassar et al. [
