An 83-year-old woman with a history of allergic rhinitis and asthma presented for a complete allergological workup. Ten years earlier, she had received oral amoxicillin/clavulanic acid [dosage not stated] for a respiratory infection, and had developed pruritic erythema 4 days later (6 hours after the 13th dose). She underwent intradermal skin testing with substances including amoxicillin 2 and 20 mg/mL, and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid 2/0.5 and 20/5 mg/mL. Forty-eight hours later, erythema and blisters were seen at the amoxicillin and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid sites. A diagnosis of non-immediate hypersensitivity to amoxicillin was made. The following day, she presented with generalised desquamative exanthema. She was treated with a short course of corticosteroids, and her symptoms resolved after 1 week. …
