An 11-year-old female with a history of schizoaffective disorder presents to the emergency department (ED) with chief complaint of visual hallucinations. She reports seeing a “scary lady standing in front of her who will not go away.” Her only chronic medication is aripiprazole that she reports having self-discontinued a few months ago. On review of systems, she reports flushing, dyspnea with exertion, headaches, intermittent periorbital/facial edema, and hives. Family history is notable for paternal death at age 52 from hypertensive atherosclerotic heart disease. …
