Abstract

In October 2011, a 1.5-year old ram was anatomized, abdominal and thoracic cavities of the sheep were checked carefully. The liver, lung, and lymph nodes were collected in PBS and transferred to a parasitology laboratory of the Para Veterinary School, University of Hamedan. During this study, five nematode worms were detected in the abdominal cavity of a 1.5-year old ram. After fixation and morphological examination, the worms were identified as Setaria digitata. The worms were observed and identified by light microscopy on the basis of features at the anterior and posterior parts of the worms. The worms were S. digitata. In addition, our results showed that 30.6 % of goats and 10.2 % of sheeps were infected with Linguatula serrata nymphs.
