In a report of 5 females, a female patient [age not stated] was described, who developed cardiomyopathy following treatment with chloroquine [dosage, route and duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated] for systemic lupus erythematosus. Cardiac biopsy was consistent with chloroquine cardiomyopathy. Genetic screening for Fabry disease was negative. During the follow up, the progression of cardiomyopathy into heart failure was noted, and then she underwent a successful heart transplantation. However, she subsequently died due to heart transplant rejection. …
