Surgical Endoscopy, Korndorffer et al. [
2] present, “Development and Transferability of a Cost-Effective Laparoscopic Camera Navigation Simulator,” from Tulane University. The authors have developed and tested an inanimate model for training of “camera driving” for laparoscopic surgery. As many of us know, this is an underemphasized skill with few good methods of training, especially for angled lens navigation. By the results of their study, the investigators have succeeded in developing a new training method for use in a standard video “box” system. …
