Abstract
Cutaneous vascular changes occur to some extent in all pregnant women. They usually appear during the first trimester and become more apparent with the progress of pregnancy. In some cases, these changes can have substantial esthetic implications. Most of these changes, however, resolve in a few months following delivery. This review discusses the current knowledge of some of these changes, including vascular spiders, unilateral nevoid telangiectasia, hemangiomas, palmar erythema, and pyogenic granuloma. It is important for the dermatologist to recognize these changes, in order to reassure the patient, and to avoid unnecessary investigations and treatments.
