53. Die Rolle von Sport und Bewegung für die körperliche und psychische Gesundheit

Zusammenfassung

Zahlreiche Metaanalysen belegen die gesundheitsfördernde Wirkung von körperlicher Aktivität bei Erwachsenen. Ähnliche Befunde gibt es auch für Kinder und Jugendliche, und zwar nicht nur für körperliche, sondern auch für psychische Erkrankungen. Wie Übersichtsarbeiten zum Zusammenhang von körperlicher Aktivität bzw. Nichtaktivität und psychischer Gesundheit bei Kindern und Jugendlichen übereinstimmend zeigen, leisten Bewegungsprogramme einen positiven Beitrag zur Verbesserung von Depressivität, Angst, Selbstbewusstsein und kognitiver Leistungsfähigkeit. Entwicklungsfaktoren, die zu körperlichem Aktivitätsverhalten beitragen, betreffen biologische und psychosoziale Faktoren und Umgebungsvariablen. Bislang durchgeführte Präventions- und Interventionsstudien haben diese Faktoren nur unzureichend berücksichtigt. Zukünftige Präventions- und Interventionsprogramme zur Steigerung des körperlichen Aktivitätsniveaus von Kindern und Jugendlichen sollten deshalb in ihrer Konzeption die Bedeutung dieser Einflussfaktoren dem jeweiligen Entwicklungsalter entsprechend berücksichtigen.
