Eine seltene Diagnose bei Patienten mit Nierenzellkarzinom

Zusammenfassung

Das Nierenzellkarzinom mit supradiaphragmalem Cavathrombus ist eine seltene Tumorentität. Die Operation mittels Nephrektomie und Thrombektomie gilt als Therapiestandard. Präoperativ ist mittels Magnetresonanztomographie und transösophagealer Echokardiographie das Ausmaß des Thrombus zu evaluieren. Die Operationsplanung und -durchführung sollte in interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit erfolgen. Trotz der Operationsrisiken erreicht man ein längeres tumorspezifisches Überleben.

Nun gibt es auch Resultate zum Gesamtüberleben: Eine adjuvante Pembrolizumab-Therapie konnte in einer Phase-3-Studie das Leben von Menschen mit Nierenzellkarzinom deutlich verlängern. Die Sterberate war im Vergleich zu Placebo um 38% geringer.
