Crohn’s disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract characterized by transmural inflammation that may result in fistulization requiring surgery. Rarely, fistula sites include gynecologic structures.
1 The clinical manifestations of entero-gynecologic fistulae (EGF) include abdominopelvic pain, air/fecal material per vagina, and pelvic sepsis. However, up to one fifth of all patients are asymptomatic.
