The director of the Center for Outcomes and Evidence, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the US Department of Health and Human Services, Jean Slutsky, has, for many years, overseen efforts to implement evidence-based medicine, translate research into practice and develop a national clearinghouse for guidelines.
