Minimal-scar techniques for breast reduction and mastopexy have become very popular and are accepted worldwide. The vertical-scar mammaplasty is one of the most commonly performed techniques, producing excellent results. However, one of the most difficult aspects of this type of procedure is the correct pattern marking. In particular, the superior part—the mosque or mushroom pattern—is usually done freehand, and adjusted to each case. This freehand part is very challenging for those who are beginners and have little experience with vertical-scar mammaplasty.
