A boy [age at the time of reaction onset not stated] developed lipoatrophy during treatment with insulin aspart. The boy was diagnosed with type I diabetes mellitus at the age of 6 years. Two years after the diagnosis, he was started on insulin aspart infusions via an insulin pump. His current dose was 1.12 j/kg/24 hours. After a few years of treatment, he developed a local depression on the skin at the site of insulin pump insertion, which indicated lipoatrophy. Therefore, the insulin preparation was changed to insulin lispro [outcome not stated]. …
