Zusammenfassung

Nachdem die eosinophile Ösophagitis lange als „seltene Erkrankung“ angesehen wurde, haben Ärzte in den letzten zwei Dekaden die Diagnose immer häufiger gestellt. Sie ist nach der gastroösophagealen Refluxerkrankung die zweithäufigste entzündliche Erkrankung der Speiseröhre, deren Therapie mit Protonenpumpeninhibitoren, topischen Steroiden oder Eliminationsdiät auf eine langfristige klinische und histologische Remission abzielt.
