Zusammenfassung

Einleitung

Regenerative, matrixgestützte Behandlungskonzepte stellen vielversprechende Therapieoptionen bei bestehenden chondralen und osteochondralen Läsionen (OCL) dar. In-vitro-Studien sowie präklinische und klinische Studien wachsen jährlich und zeigen das große Interesse auf diesem Gebiet.

Methoden

Es werden zunehmend einzeitige Therapiestrategien entwickelt, wobei insbesondere zellfreie Biomaterialien die Möglichkeit beinhalten, Indikationen zu erweitern, die chirurgischen Eingriffe zu vereinfachen und Kosten zu sparen.

Schlussfolgerung

Unterschiedliche Biomaterialien finden bereits klinische Anwendung mit zum Teil kurz- und mittelfristigen Ergebnissen. Hochklassige Studien fehlen allerdings bisher in der Literatur. Systematische Langzeitstudien und randomisierte Studien sind jedoch notwendig, um das Potenzial dieser Behandlungsstrategien zu evaluieren und sie mit traditionellen Therapiealternativen suffizient vergleichen zu können.
