In accordance with the current literature on the “changing face” of celiac disease (CD) [

2], it is important also for the bariatric surgeon to reconsider the widely accepted syllogism by which a normal weight or overweight would exclude a priori the diagnosis of CD. In fact, CD may have atypical presentations, whose heterogeneity is increasing in both children and adults [
