Leitlinie „Rhinosinusitis“ der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Heilkunde, Kopf- und Hals-Chirurgie

Ziel der vorliegenden S2-Leitlinie ist die Förderung einer qualitativ hochwertigen fachärztlichen Versorgung von erwachsenen Patientinnen und Patienten mit entzündlichen Erkrankungen im Bereich der Nasennebenhöhlen. Die Leitlinie definiert 3 Typen der Rhinosinusitis: die akute, die akut rezidivierende und die chronische Rhinosinusitis. Während unter der akuten Rhinosinusitis ein entzündlicher Prozess verstanden wird, der bei gestörtem Abfluss und gestörter Ventilation der Nasennebenhöhlen infolge einer nasalen Infektion entsteht, wird für die Entstehung der chronischen Rhinosinusitis eine allmähliche Obstruktion durch vermehrte Gewebebildung im ostiomeatalen Komplex sowie verschiedene Konzepte der mukosalen Entzündung angenommen. Insbesondere bei den verschiedenen Formen der chronischen Rhinosinusitis sind jedoch wesentliche Aspekte der Pathophysiologie weiterhin ungeklärt. Die erhebliche krankheitsassoziierte Morbidität, die sich anschließenden enormen sozioökonomischen Belastungen durch die Erkrankung sowie die seltenen, aber bedrohlichen potenziellen Komplikationen erfordern jedoch eine zielgerichtete und effiziente Diagnostik und Therapie. …
