Osteoporosis (OP) and fragility fractures (FF) are often underestimated comorbidities in inflammatory rheumatic disease [
20]. Bone can be affected by the pathogenic process of rheumatic diseases and by the drugs used in treatment, such as immunosuppressive corticosteroids or anti-TNFα therapy. The rheumatic disease in which this has been best and most broadly studied is rheumatoid arthritis (RA), in which proinflammatory cytokines that increase expression of the receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa β ligand (RANKL) or reduce osteoprotegerin (OPG) are produced, thereby promoting osteoclastogenesis [
