A retrospective study identified four adolescents who developed either transient pain, or injection site redness or burning, or decreased respiratory rate following treatment with IV magnesium 30 mg/kg with a maximum dose of 2000mg infused over 30 minutes (1000mg dose was diluted in 50–100 mL of 5% dextrose water or normal saline) for acute headache [patients' details and times to reaction onsets not stated]. …
