Bei etwa 20-25 % aller Schlaganfallpatienten ist das Zeitfenster seit Symptombeginn unbekannt. Diese Gruppe war für lange Zeit prinzipiell von einer gezielten Akuttherapie mittels systemischer Thrombolyse oder mechanischer Thrombektomie ausgeschlossen. Studienergebnisse der letzten Jahre haben jetzt neue Behandlungsoptionen für Patienten mit unbekanntem Symptombeginn eröffnet.
