A 17-year-old boy was scheduled for surgery to perform an osteotomy on his ring finger. He had received multiple antibiotics including minocycline since age 14, but minocycline had been discontinued 6 months before presentation [dosage, route and duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. During osteotomy, the metacarpal was found to be dark brown, and the cortex had a matted texture. The metacarpals on his adjacent fingers were also a similar texture and colour. The osteotomy healed and he returned to full activity. …
