During the month of September, 2010, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) lost its beloved CEO, Steven Carter and one of its founding members, Kenneth Brown, to cancer. Poignant memorial tributes to these wonderful, dedicated individuals can be found in this issue of the
Journal.

2 Steve was a great leader of ASNC for almost 10 years and was the consummate professional who undertook his responsibilities with warmth, grace, and high ethical standards. Ken was one of the pioneers in demonstrating the prognostic value of stress myocardial perfusion imaging, particularly after a myocardial infarction. He was a Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont and was a founding member and sixth president of ASNC. Approximately 10 years ago another founding member and leader of ASNC, the charismatic Mario Verani, succumbed to cancer. …
