One year of nuclear cardiology in Europe

Since the introduction of the need to use imaging for the monitoring of cardiomyopathies and particularly ischemic cardiomyopathies in international guidelines, articles reporting the place, the accuracy and the prognostic impact of cardiac imaging have grown exponentially. During 2015, the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging published selected pre-clinical, technical and clinical studies sweeping the most advanced items in nuclear cardiology. Advances in nuclear cardiology led the Journal to publish revision from the European Association of Nuclear Medicine guidelines for radionuclide myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) [1]. The current review provides a summary of selected articles representative of the most interesting advances in the field of nuclear medicine published in the Journal during 2015. …
