Zusammenfassung

Qualität in der Labormedizin bedeutet, dass jeder einzelne Schritt entlang der gesamten diagnostischen Prozesskette korrekt durchgeführt wird, wodurch eine fundierte Entscheidungsfindung und eine effektive Patientenversorgung gewährleistet werden. Diese Definition gilt nicht nur für die klassische Labormedizin, sondern auch für das POCT. Bezüglich der Patientensicherheit entstehen durch die POCT-Diagnostik andere Risiken als wie bei der Analytik im Zentrallabor. Das Kapitel bespricht einzelne, relevante Fehlerquellen.
