Synovial osteochondromatosis (SOC) is a benign neoplasm characterized by synovial proliferation and chondrometaplasia and may affect the synovial lining of a joint, bursa, or tendon sheath. The disease is usually monoarticular. Joints mostly affected are knee, hip, shoulder, elbow and ankle. The affected synovium undergoes metaplastic transformation into cartilage forming chondroblasts, which mature into chondrocytes to form nodules of hyaline cartilage [
