Aufgrund der geringen Inzidenz des Peniskarzinoms ist die Datenlage zur Diagnostik und Therapie ausgesprochen schlecht. Ziel der Behandlung ist eine komplette Entfernung des Tumors mit möglichst organerhaltendem oder rekonstruktivem Ansatz. Da Peniskarzinome besonders früh metastasieren, ist auch ein suffizientes Lymphknotenmanagement von zentraler Bedeutung. …

Nun gibt es auch Resultate zum Gesamtüberleben: Eine adjuvante Pembrolizumab-Therapie konnte in einer Phase-3-Studie das Leben von Menschen mit Nierenzellkarzinom deutlich verlängern. Die Sterberate war im Vergleich zu Placebo um 38% geringer.
