Introduction: Although psychotropic polypharmacy is widely used in common practice there are still substantial deficits in established knowledge about combination and augmentation therapies.[1] Furthermore, psychiatric textbooks advise monotherapy wherever possible reporting a higher risk of adverse drug reactions under polypharmacy.[2] Rittmansberger reported an increase in the use of psychotropic drugs during the last three decades from 47,8% to 19,6%.[2]
