Acute appendicitis is a common surgical cause of abdominal pain in children and adolescents [1, 2]. In children the rates of perforation at surgery is often higher due to delay in diagnosis as the clinical presentation in children often deviates from the classic description of the disease [35]. Appendiceal perforation is associated with a sharp increase in morbidity and mortality rates [6]. Though pelvic abscess is relatively common after acute perforated appendicitis, involvement of adenexa in the inflammatory process is rare. …
