20. Rehabilitation bei Osteoporose

Zusammenfassung

Osteoporose ist eine systemische Skeletterkrankung mit reduzierter Knochendichte, gestörter Mikroarchitektur und erhöhtem Knochenbruchrisiko. Oberstes Ziel ist, Frakturen zu vermeiden. Die Prävention beginnt in der Kindheit (ausreichende Kalziumzufuhr und regelmäßige körperliche Aktivitäten). Die Fortführung eines in Hinblick auf Ernährung und Bewegung entsprechenden Lebensstils ist im Erwachsenenalter wichtig. Ist es aber zu osteoporotischen Frakturen gekommen, muss eine spezifische Rehabilitation eingeleitet werden. Wirbelkörperbrüche können sehr schmerzhaft sein. Nach der Schmerzlinderung in der Akutphase stehen der Erhalt der Mobilität, die Kräftigung der Rückenmuskulatur mit Verbesserung von Haltung und Balance zur Sturzrisikoreduktion, falls indiziert der Einsatz einer Orthese und natürlich die Einstellung auf Osteoporosespezifische Medikamente im Vordergrund. Schenkelhalsfrakturen sind meist sturzbedingt und zählen zu den unangenehmsten Folgen der Osteoporose. Nach der postoperativen Mobilisierung sollte wenn möglich die Wiederherstellung des präoperativen Allgemeinzustandes wieder erreicht werden, um einen neuerlichen Sturz und dessen Folgen zu verhindern. Die osteoporosespezifische medikamentöse Therapie ist verpflichtend.
