We were pleased to read the response from deKemp, et al.
1 to our editorial
2 on their recently published paper estimating myocardial flow reserve (MFR) from perfusion datasets,
3 as we welcome this opportunity for further discourse. Far from suggesting research malfeasance, our editorial provided necessary context for interpretation and application of the study results by highlighting how
good practices can lead to optimistic results. Our intent was clear: encouraging future blinded prospective studies. Indeed, the authors have raised the bar on good research practices by now sharing their underlying data. Many excellent points are made in the letter, including an excellent discourse on quality research practices. Nonetheless, there are several points we would like to address. …
