Currently, nuclear medicine offers the most advanced techniques for in vivo evaluation of molecular events. Above all, positron emission tomography (PET) allows the quantification of different metabolic functions in organs and tissues, and it is clinically widely used both for diagnosis and for assessment of therapy response in oncology, cardiology and neurology. …
