Sterbewunsch bei der Parkinson-Krankheit

Eine 77-jährige verwitwete, früher selbstständige Geschäftsfrau erkrankte vor elf Jahren an einem idiopathischen hypokinetisch rigiden Parkinson-Syndrom. Nach anfänglich gutem Ansprechen auf eine L-Dopa-Therapie war es in den letzten vier Jahren zunehmend zu motorischen Wirkungsfluktuationen gekommen. Auch durch die im Verlauf versuchte Kombinationsbehandlung von Levo-/Carbidopa mit Entacapon, den Einsatz von Pramipexol oder von Rotigotin-Pflaster und die zusätzliche Gabe von Amantadin konnte keine stabile motorische Funktionsfähigkeit erreicht werden. …

Ein Bluttest kann abnorm aggregiertes Alpha-Synuclein bei einigen Menschen schon zehn Jahre vor Beginn der motorischen Parkinsonsymptome nachweisen. Mit einem solchen Test lassen sich möglicherweise Prodromalstadien erfassen und die Betroffenen früher behandeln.
