Ten patients* underwent selective percutaneous transarterial renal embolisation for conditions associated with end-stage renal disease [see
Table 1]. Embolisation agents included alcohol, sodium amidotrizoate [Ethibloc], polyvinyl alcohol or enbucrilate [Histoacryl] with iodised oil [Lipiodol]. All patients developed an elevated CRP level along with other symptoms of postembolisation syndrome [
times to reactions onset not stated]. Treatment included fluids and anti-inflammatory medication. One patient also experienced haematoma at the puncture site, which was treated conservatively. Patients were subsequently discharged without any persistent complications of the embolisation procedure. …
