A 48-year-old woman received her third cycle of vinorelbine [dosage and route not stated] as palliative treatment for breast cancer. She developed tenderness and redness on the dorsal side of her left hand 2-3 days later, and blisters developed 1 week later. No pain or swelling of her hand had been noted during administration of vinorelbine. She was referred to a plastic surgeon for conservative treatment and her blisters were treated as a second-degree burn. Her hand recovered in 3 weeks.Author Comment“Despite the absence of pain or swelling during infusion of vinorelbine, extravasation of vinorelbine is the most likely cause of the skin lesions.” …
