There are a myriad of complications of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Systemic effects include hyponatremia, stunned myocardium (takotsubo cardiomyopathy), pulmonary edema, deep venous thrombosis, and anemia. Lesser known complications involving the gastrointestinal tract including bleeding, reduced contractility, and increased permeability have been observed following acute brain injury [
