Leiomyomas are common tumours of the smooth cells of the myometrium, present in at least 20% of women above the age of 35 [
2]. They are usually multiple and of variable sizes, ranging from barely seen seedlings to huge masses. This case report intends to highlight the uncertainty induced by the rapid growth of a uterine leiomyoma and the complications associated with surgery, and question whether the rapid growth could be induced by the hyperoestrogenic state of polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). …
