Colonoscopy is a common procedure performed by gastroenterologists and general surgeons. Currently over 500,000 colonoscopies are performed each year in the United States. The incidence of complications of any nature varies from 0.1% to 1.9% [
1]. Perforation and hemorrhage are the most common complications of this procedure. We describe our unique experience with two patients who developed acute cholecystitis 24–72 hr after colonoscopy.
