Allergische Soforttypreaktionen und kreuzreaktive Kohlenhydratepitope (CCD)*

Zusammenfassung

Viele pflanzliche Allergene sind Glykoproteine, wobei die IgE-Reaktivität der entsprechenden Kohlenhydratbestandteile selten mit klinischer Relevanz einherzugehen scheint. Das verhält sich für ein in Geweben von Säugetieren (mit Ausnahme der Primaten), bei Neuweltaffen und Halbaffen vorkommendes Kohlenhydratepitop, die Galactose-α-1,3-Galactose (α-Gal) anders. IgE-Antikörper gegen α-Gal (Anti-α-Gal-IgE) sind nicht nur mit schweren allergischen Reaktionen assoziiert, sondern auch mit einer verzögert auftretenden Anaphylaxie. Die allergologisch relevanten Kohlenhydratdeterminanten unterscheiden sich somit hinsichtlich der Struktur, des Vorkommens, ihrer Assoziation zu klinischen Symptomen und deren Schweregrad erheblich.
