Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are specific KIT positive mesenchymal tumors that are most commonly found in the stomach and small intestine [
1]. They are most often found in the stomach (60%), followed by the jejunum and the ileum (30%), the duodenum (5%), the colorectum (< 5%), and the esophagus (< 1%) [
2]. Rarely, they can be found in extra-lumen sites, including the mesentery, omentum, and retroperitoneum (< 5%) [
2]. These tumors occur equally in both sexes, and, although they can occur in any age group, their maximum incidence is in the fifth and sixth decades of life [
3]. GISTs are generally asymptomatic, and the diagnosis is often fortuitous, whether during endoscopic procedures for other diseases or on CT imaging, performed for unrelated abdominal conditions [
4]. Immunohistochemistry is essential to the result by highlighting the CD117 and DOG1 markers [
