The fact that the 2nd edition of this volume appeared just 6 years after the 1st reflects the success obtained by the 1st edition as well as the enormous progress in the field of haematopathology during this span of time, also thanks to the extensive application of molecular techniques including next-generation sequencing (NGS). All the new pieces of information comprised in the present volume are pivotal not only for the diagnosis but also for accurate prognostic prevision and the usage of tailored therapies. In other words, the volume fits very well with the present concept of precision medicine. Importantly, the timing of the 2nd edition of Hematopathology has been coordinated with the release of the revised WHO Classification [
1,
2], representing a useful complement for the pathologist trying to face the main changes in the classification of lymphomas, leukaemias and accessory cell disorders as well as with this continuously evolving field. …
