Zusammenfassung

Hüftgelenksbeschwerden sind häufig im orthopädischen Alltag. Im Alter von 60 Jahren leiden etwa 5 % der Bevölkerung in Deutschland unter einer symptomatischen Arthrose des Hüftgelenkes. Einer der Hauptauslöser ist die abnormale Morphologie des Gelenks. Ursachen können aber z. B. auch Überlastungen des Gelenks, kongenitale Hüftdysplasien mit Minderüberdachung sowie femorale oder azetabuläre Fehlstellungen sein. Der Einfluss von Hüftgelenkskontrakturen, Beinlängendifferenzen und des spinopelvinen Alignements sowie deren prophylaktische Therapie im Kindes‑, Jugend- und frühen Erwachsenenalter werden hier diskutiert.
