Zusammenfassung

Bariatrische Chirurgie, insbesondere die Magenbypasschirurgie nach Roux, ist eine effektive Methode zum dauerhaften Gewichtsverlust mit der Chance auf langfristige Diabetesremission. Mit konservativen Maßnahmen ist ein derartiger Effekt bei massiv ädipösen Patienten nur äußerst selten zu erreichen. Allerdings darf man nicht vergessen, dass ein solcher Eingriff auch neue Herausforderungen mit sich bringt.
