Amazingly, in spite of the arrival of newer imaging methods (stress echocardiography, coronary CTA, cardiac MRI), cardiac SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) remains the most commonly used noninvasive test for detection of obstructive epicardial coronary artery disease (CAD).
